Another 15 flights welcomed with COVID-19 cases at Pearson Airport in Mississauga

The federal government is reporting 23 new flights with COVID-19 cases recently at Pearson Airport, 15 of which landed at the airport and eight of which departed.
According to the government’s data, there were 20 domestic flights (within Canada) arriving at or departing Pearson between April 28 and May 1 — a big increase compared to the eight domestic flights reported between April 25 and 27.
There were three international flights which all landed at Pearson from abroad on April 28 to 29.
At least 171 rows were affected across all 23 flights.
Effective April 22, the federal government has suspended incoming passenger flights from India and Pakistan for a month as cases of COVID-19 surged in both countries.

According to the federal government, a row is considered affected if it’s three rows (two rows for business class) behind or in front of a row where a seated person is confirmed to have COVID-19 “during a period when they may have been infectious to others.”
Passengers who were sitting in the affected rows — or all passengers on the flight if rows aren’t specified — are advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and contact public health if they start showing symptoms of the virus.
