81 major prizes up for grabs with Lotto Max draw in Canada

The winner of a major lottery jackpot in Canada has been named months after the draw.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation / Lotto Spot announced the winner of the Oct. 7 Lotto Max jackpot in a news release last Friday.

Edmonton resident Tae Seong Lee matched seven out of seven numbers to win the $15 million jackpot.

Lee said it took a while for him to check his ticket, but when he did, he was shocked.

Lee said he has “always dreamed of this day.”

When he first saw the huge win, he couldn’t believe it and had to scan it again.

He first broke the news to his wife and then his daughter. The discussions then began about how to spend the money.

“The first thing on my mind is paying off our mortgage,” Lee said.

“Maybe I’ll replace our car after that.”

He said he has always wanted a bigger vehicle and might buy a new truck.

“I’ve also always wanted to travel more and do more community and charity work,” he added.

“This will allow me to do all of that.”

Among his travel plans, Lee said he will finally be able to make a trip to Korea to visit his mother, which he hasn’t been able to do in a few years.

“My coworkers all have a dream to win, and they buy tickets like I do,” he said.

“So, it’s truly amazing to win like this.”

He bought the winning ticket at a Petro Canada in Edmonton.
