Police have chared Kuo Yang Du of Mississauga.

A Mississauga man is facing multiple criminal charges after Peel Regional Police believe he was behind a series of random assaults and property damage incidents stretching back nearly two years.

Investigators with Peel Regional Police’s 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau say the incidents began as early as November 2024 and happened at various times of the day and night across Mississauga.

Police say the attacks were completely unprovoked, with victims having no prior interaction with the suspect.

Among the incidents under investigation are assaults on unsuspecting people, as well as multiple cases in which a man threw rocks at vehicles and other property, causing significant damage.

The investigation took a major turn on June 20, when 36-year-old Kuo Yang Du, of Mississauga, was arrested on an unrelated matter. Police say investigators subsequently determined he is allegedly responsible for a series of offences dating back to late 2024.

Du has been charged with 15 counts of mischief over $5,000, one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Investigators believe there could be additional victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward.

Anyone who believes they may have experienced a similar encounter, been assaulted or had their vehicle or property damaged is urged to contact investigators.

Police are also asking residents and business owners to review any available dash camera, residential or commercial surveillance footage that may show a man throwing rocks at vehicles or other property.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Peel Regional Police’s 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133.
