$14,000 in drugs seized, duo arrested and charged in Niagara Falls

Two people were arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences yesterday after police seized thousands of dollars in drugs and Canadian currency in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Regional Police say that around 1:30 p.m., officers executing a search warrant found 25 grams of suspected cocaine, 154 grams of suspected fentanyl, 8.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and over $1,200 in Canadian currency believed to be proceeds of crime.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $ 14,000, officials say.

Subsequently, a man and woman were arrested outside of a motel located on Lundy’s Lane.

Michael Pereira, 48,—of no fixed address— is facing several charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of a crime.

Michelle Ferron, 38, of Niagara Falls, is facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

As of now, Periera is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.

Ferron was released on a Form 10 with a future court date.
