13-year-old scooter rider struck by vehicle in Ajax

Three hours after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car a few blocks to the south, a 13-year-old boy is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Ajax Thursday.

Police were called to Harwood Avenue and Rossland Road just before 6:30 p.m. after a boy riding a scooter westbound was hit by a southbound vehicle. He was transported to Ajax-Pickering Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit are still investigating the circumstances of the collision and are asking anyone with cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident to contact Cst. A 34-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he was struck by a car at Harwood and Kerrison Drive at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
