Students ages 12 to 17 in Mississauga and Brampton will receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before they head back to school in the fall.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the new second dose rollout plan for young people will see them fully vaccinated before the end of August. The Province expects to provide a first dose to all willing youth aged 12 to 17 before the end of June.

“It’s important for as many young people as possible to be fully vaccinated before they head back to classrooms in September,” said Premier Ford. “That’s what we are aiming for.”

The premier said the province is now ahead of schedule on the vaccination program, but he added how quickly we proceed moving forward will depend on the continued consistent flow of the Pfizer and Moderna medication into Ontario.
