Four Montreal men are facing a total of 105 charges after Peel cops broke up an attempted car theft in the east end of Mississauga in the early morning hours Thursday (Feb. 16).

Peel Regional Police say they responded to a car theft in progress call in the Dixie Rd./Matheson Blvd. area at about 3:30 a.m.

Responding officers seized several break-in instruments and arrested four men in connection with that incident in addition to what police say is “an ongoing vehicle theft investigation.”

After further investigation, police say they recovered devices they believe were used during the attempted theft, including automobile master keys and a key re-programmer.

Police didn’t reveal any further information related to all the charges the men are facing.

Darrel Julien, 18, Amine Iftene, 23, and Anas Khabbaz, 23, face numerous charges, including vehicle theft and possession of a device to commit mischief.

Jad El Ouafi, 23, faces similar charges including possession of a controlled substance.

All four men have appeared in court for their bail hearings.

Anyone with more information can contact Peel police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233.
