A Brampton father says he’ll pay off debts and save for the future after winning a huge $100,000 lottery prize.
Eugene Hamilton is a mechanic and father-of-one from Brampton who regularly plays lottery games like Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Ontario 49 and Daily Keno.
Hamilton says he uses the OLG quick pick feature to select his numbers – a decision that landed him a $100,000 win in the July 19 Lotto Max draw by matching six out of seven numbers in the correct order.
He bought the ticket and checked it a week later to find he’d won a bug prize.
Hamilton was humble about the win while accepting his prize at the OLG prize centre in Toronto, saying he’s “not a very expensive person, but it feels good to be a winner.”
He says he’ll use the money to pay off bills and save for the future.
Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played along with most lottery games for an extra $1. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Sandalwood Parkway East in Brampton.
