Spring is often the time when people think of buying a new home.
While there was a surge in sales activity in some areas of the GTA in March, the spring real estate market isn’t as busy as in previous years. Experts suggested trade uncertainty and the federal election may be causing some hesitancy among potential buyers.
Those willing to take the leap into home ownership may want to look at the April most and least expensive neighbourhood report from digital real estate platform Wahi.
Wahi looked at median home sale prices in GTA neighbourhoods with five or more sales in April and found the least and most expensive places to buy a home right now.
Most of the least expensive places are outside of the city core with two Brampton and two North York neighbourhoods on the list. With the median sold price under $600,000, the homes sold in these neighbourhoods were likely mostly condos or townhouses.
In keeping with a spike in real estate activity reported in Mississauga, the city core had the highest sold listings, 45 properties, amongst these least expensive neighbourhoods.

The most expensive neighbourhoods tend to be where the largest homes are located. Neighbourhoods such as Eastlake in Oakville and Casa Loma in Toronto have been on this list in previous months.
Kleinburg was the busiest among these neighbourhoods with 13 properties sold.

For more information on these neighbourhoods, see Wahi’s guide here.
