Week-long lane closures coming on busy Brampton road

Motorists can expect delays along a major Brampton road for the next 10 days.

As part of the watermain replacement program carried out by Peel Region, Williams Parkway will be reduced to a single lane at Dixie Road.

The lane reductions will be in place in both eastbound and westbound lanes.

Work begins today (May 19) and will continue through to Friday, May 29.

“This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services to the community,” according to Peel Region. “Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible.”

The region adds that construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe and asks motorists to be aware of their surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area.

“Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes,” a message from the region says.

The work is being carried out to expand the water infrastructure needed to meet the expected population growth. This watermain program is carried out to expedite the process.
