With the ongoing threat of U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada, many Canadians are now looking to buy more domestic products.
In terms of alcohol, the LCBO in Ontario now has a list of made-in-Canada products that it offers.
As an aside, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has even pledged to remove all American-made alcohol from LCBO shelves if Trump’s tariffs are imposed.
INsauga.com has taken a look at some “trending” made-in-Canada spirits that are available at the LCBO.
Here’s a look at 10, presented in no particular order:
1. Crown Royal

Crown Royal was first created in 1939 as a gift for the King and Queen of England, its website notes.
It has since grown to become a huge Canadian brand.
“Aging in both new and seasoned white oak barrels give Crown Royal its unique flavour profile that has garnered fans the world over,” the LCBO description says.
It has a 40 per cent alcohol content.
A 750 ml bottle is currently selling for $32.45, which is $1.50 less than its regular price.
The sale ends March 2.
2. J.P. Wiser’s

“In the mid-1800s J.P. Wiser set out to create a signature whisky and the result is Deluxe, an award-winning golden Canadian rye with aromas of sweet caramel, dried fruit and vanilla,” the LCBO says.
The company’s website says it is “award winning” and “proudly Canadian.”
It has a 40 per cent alcohol content and is made in Ontario.
Currently, a 750 ml bottle is selling for $31.15, which is $1.30 off of its regular price. The sale ends March 2.
3. Forty Creek Barrel Select Whisky
LCBO.com
Forty Creek is made in Ontario, with the distillery located in Niagara.
“Forty Creek is often credited for the renewed interest in quality Canadian whisky,” the LCBO states.
It has a 40 per cent alcohol content and a 750 ml bottle is currently $1.70 off, at $31.15.
The sale ends March 2.
4. Polar Ice Vodka

“Polar Ice is an award-winning Canadian vodka, made right here in Ontario, crafted from the purest water and grains, quadruple distilled and triple filtered for a clean, smooth taste,” the LCBO says.
“It’s made for mixing in your favourite vodka cocktail like the quintessential True North Caesar or Moscow Mule.”

5. Canadian Club Whisky

Canadian Club calls itself “a true Canadian whisky tradition.”
“The legend of Canadian Club began in 1858 and grew to become one of the world’s most iconic whiskies,” the LCBO notes.
It’s made in Ontario.

6. PJ’s Original Cream

PJ’s Original Cream is made with 100 per cent Ontario milk from a farm in Belleville, Ontario.
“We start with the richest, purest cream to blend into PJ’s. We blend fresh on Thursdays and bottle on Mondays — talk about farm to bottle!” their website says.
It’s great in coffee, cocoa, or just over ice, the LCBO says.
It has a 17 per cent alcohol content and sells for $24.95 for a 750 ml bottle.
7. Alberta Pure Vodka

“Produced in Calgary by Alberta Distillers, this classic vodka recently brought home the much coveted ‘double gold’ at the San Fransisco World Spirits Competition,” the LCBO says.
“Subtle and smooth with creamy, bread-like notes, this is a great addition to any cocktail.”

8. Bearface Triple Oak Canadian Whisky

“We proudly source the finest single-grain whisky from world class distilleries to provide us with the foundation to our whisky,” Bearface’s website says.

The LCBO website says it’s made in Ontario.
It has a 42.5 per cent alcohol content.

9. Iceberg Vodka

Just below the bottle cap, it reads “Canada’s vodka.”
Iceberg vodka is made with water that’s harvested from icebergs off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, the LCBO says.
“Harvested, blended, and bottled by Canadians, for Canadians,” Iceberg’s website reads.
It costs $31.15 for a 750 ml bottle and has a 40 per cent alcohol content.
10. Cabot Trail Maple Cream

For $34.95, you can get a 750 ml bottle of Cabot Trail Maple Cream.
“An authentic cream beverage that marries the richness of pure Canadian maple syrup with fresh cream,” the LCBO says, noting it’s made in Quebec.
It has a 15 per cent alcohol content.
