1 dead after motorcycle crash in southern Ontario

One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in southern Ontario over the weekend, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that at around 7:37 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews responded to Beachwood Road in the Town of Wasaga Beach for a single-vehicle motorcycle collision.

The rider of the motorcycle — a 40-year-old resident of Wasaga Beach — died at the scene.

Beachwood Road was closed in the area following the incident.

Police didn’t say what may have caused the crash.

“Members of the OPP technical collision investigation unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation,” OPP said.

“The investigation remains ongoing.”
