Town of Milton issues notice of surplus lands

Ontario housing starts up, but still far off needed levels for 1.5 million homes

The Town of Milton has given notice that it has declared a surplus of a road widening.

According to the Town, the road widening is an approximate 157 square meters parcel of land on the South West corner of Derry Rd. and Fourth Line, located at 9980 Derry Rd.

The land was acquired from the previous owners for the purpose of a road-widening when the width requirements for Fourth Line were 26 meters.

The Fourth Line right of way requirements now is only 20 meters.

The Town intends to dispose of the land in the form of sale in fee simple, according to its website.

The property is also not available for public acquisition and is to be disposed to Quadspring Inc., the adjacent landowner.

Additionally, the property is being disposed of for fair market value in accordance with town policy.
