The Town of Halton Hills is currently seeking community feedback on the Stewarttown Secondary Plan.

The Hamlet of Stewarttown, along with joined lands to the southwest, has been identified as part of “the preferred growth option” for Sustainable Halton in 2009.

The completed plan will identify the most appropriate mix of land uses in the area. Additionally, it will incorporate the best practices for community development along with establishing housing density targets for the new community.

It will also help with converting the expansion lands to residential uses and maintain the existing character of the surrounding area.

The Stewarttown expansion lands, which are approximately 80 acres in size, were included as part of Official Plan Amendment 10 and designated ‘Future Residential/Mixed Use Area’ along with the Vision Georgetown and Southeast Georgetown lands.

Prior to any developments, the secondary plan must be completed.

As a result, residents are invited to take a virtual walking tour of Stewarttown and complete a brief survey.

Feedback collected from the survey will help the Town identify issues, opportunities and site-specific considerations as well as future goals for the area.
