If you ever wanted to have a good time with friends or significant others and actually get a little (or a lot) of sweat out of it here are the top 5 places in Mississauga to do so:

5 – Battle Axe

Have you ever wanted to demonstrate what a bad ass you are by throwing an axe with speed and accuracy at a defenceless (but inanimate, fortunately) target? You probably have. Or maybe you’ve never thought about it. But even if it’s never occurred to you to toss a weapon in a safe environment, you’re definitely thinking about it now and imagining how amazing it will be to strike fear into the hearts of your loved ones (who might also be your secret enemies).  Read more>

4 – Scooter’s Roller Palace

Located on Royal Windsor Drive is Scooter’s Roller Palace.  If you’re looking for a fun way to get active together, this is for you.  Strap on a pair of roller skates and dance with your beau in their retro throwback arena.  From the vintage track lighting to the disco balls, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back into 1975, which is when this iconic piece of Mississauga originally opened their doors.  Worried about falling on your face?  On Tuesdays and Thursdays you can take lessons, followed by a skate (although falling down is half the fun.)  You can attend adult only skates, if you’re looking to avoid the little ones on your date and night owls can even attend a late-night skate once a month that runs until 3am.  The arena isn’t licensed, which offers you a built-in excuse to ask for date number two.

3 – Laser Quest

Healthy competition can be good for a relationship, right?  Try putting that theory to the test and bust out your smack talk for laser tag.  Laser Quest is fun for two or for groups, so this is a great choice for a double date as well!  Grab your laser gun and head into the course and hunt down the other players.  If you’re like me though, you’ll just be trying not to die.  My first time out, I was mocked mercilessly for my negative score (how does that even happen?!) You can bring in your own food though, so pack a picnic and make some bets, like the loser pays for the next round.  Pro tip: Do some lunges beforehand; it’s a work out!

2 – Sky Zone or Air Riderz Trampoline Park

One of the best things about being a kid had to be jumping on my friend’s trampoline every day in the summer.  Now, being an adult in a big city with no backyard, that simple pleasure isn’t as attainable as it used to be.  Enter Sky Zone and Air Riderz.  Imagine a room full of trampolines, with walls made of trampolines enabling you to literally bounce off the walls.  Sound like a blast?  If you’re feeling like being a big kid for your next outing, these are the place to go.

1 – Archery Terminal

Have you ever wanted to shoot your best friend or partner in the chest with a literal arrow? How about your least favourite co-worker or sibling? Now, with the opening of Archery Terminal — Mississauga’s first indoor archery tag facility — you might just get the chance to non-fatally pierce the armor (not really) of a friend or loved one. The space is over 10,000 sq. ft featuring a party room, entertainment lounge, three-lane training and a large battlefield for players to showcase their running, shooting and dodging skills. “Once you step inside, you’ll notice that we’re not simply just an Archery Tag facility. From the comic book decor, to the graffiti mural of the GTA cityscape and booming background music, we’re here to share our passion for all the things we love. This is a place where you can hang out, have fun, play Archery Tag and even share your love for superheroes!”
