Suspects Charged After Halton Police Find Stolen Van in Burlington

Three suspects are facing charges after being caught in a stolen van in Burlington.

A patrol officer was driving a cruiser equipped with an Automated Licence Plate Recognition System (ALPR) along Dundas St. on July 5 at 10:22 a.m., said Halton police Det.-Const. Colin MacLeod.
The system alerted the officer to a stolen van traveling east on Dundas near Tim Dobbie Dr.
The officer followed the black 2008 Toyota Sienna as it turned onto Millcroft Park Dr. and immediately pulled over and came to a stop.

The van was confirmed to have been stolen from Hamilton on June 25.
Three men were arrested for possession of property obtained by crime.
A search of the vehicle turned up a small quantity of hydromorphone, an opiod or painkiller that’s typically injected.
Damien Michael Nelson, 38, of Hamilton, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Kevin Michael Myles, 36, and Christopher Ross, 37, both of no fixed address, are charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
