Stolen vehicle flees from Halton police, rams head-on into cruiser in Milton

Two men were arrested after an allegedly-stolen vehicle struck a Halton police cruiser head-on in Milton.

Just after 8:30 p.m. last night, Feb. 15, Halton officers observed a black Lexus sedan driving in the area of James Snow Pkwy. and Steeles Ave. E. in Milton. Investigation determined the vehicle had been reported stolen in Peel earlier that day.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated away. In its attempts to flee, the stolen vehicle struck a separate police cruiser head-on in the area of Esquesing Line and Lawson Rd.

Two suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief foot-chase, both suspects were placed under arrest. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

Arvind Singh, 24, of Brampton has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of heroin.

Rajbir Singh, 23, of Toronto has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession heroin, fleeing from police, assault with intent to resist arrest and obstructing an officer.

Both accused were released on an undertaking.
