Power issues knock out Burlington school

Classes have been cancelled at a Burlington school today.

The Halton Catholic District School Board reports that Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School had to be shut down because of a non-performing transformer.

The school is located at 3201 Lansdown Dr.

A message on the school’s website states that Burlington Hydro has advised that the building be closed down immediately in order to shut down all power so that the transformer can be repaired.

“Parents are asked to keep their children at home today. If your children take the bus to school, please make arrangements to have your children picked up as soon as possible.”
