Outdoor dining program re-launched in Halton Hills

Last year, the Town of Halton Hills initiated a program called ‘”Al Fresco in the Hills” to help local food establishments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Town recently announced that it will be re-launching the program and is now accepting applications.

The outdoor dining initiative, which initially launched in June 2020, was designed to allow local food establishments to temporarily provide additional seating opportunities outdoors.

This year, the program will continue to support local restaurants, bars and other food and drink establishments and help to expand their dining capacity while adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines.

“We were pleased to initiate the Al Fresco in the Hills program last year as a means to support our local food establishments throughout the pandemic,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“This industry in particular faced hardship so I was pleased to see so many businesses participating in this program. I’m a big proponent of supporting local businesses and I can tell you that our restaurants have done a great job to continue serving the community while adhering to restrictions and keeping residents safe.”

Temporary patios will be permitted until January 31, 2022.

To apply, please contact the Town’s Clerk here.
