One person dead after head-on crash in southern Ontario

One person has died following a head-on collision at the border of Caledon and East Garafraxa early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the crash involving two passenger vehicles on Caledon/East Garafraxa Townline at 5:15 a.m. on March 19, the Ontario Provincial Police said.

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police said the driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries.

The identity of the person killed has not yet been confirmed.

As of noon, the Caledon/East Garafraxa Town-Line was closed between Shaws Creek Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard for the ongoing investigation.
