Heading out for a family skate at Trafalgar Park will have to wait.

The Town of Oakville announced Monday (March 6) it has closed the refrigerated outdoor rink for the season.

“Due to the warm temperatures, we’ve close the Trafalgar Park outdoor rink for the season,” the Town announced on Twitter.

“Thanks to everybody who joined us the winter. See you next year.”

All outdoor rinks are now closed. Those include Bloomfield Park, Coronation Park, Glenashton Park, Millbank Park, Old Abbey Lane Park, Wallace Park and Windrush Park.

Admission to the outdoor rinks are free and are first-come, first-served as space allows. No registration is necessary.

There is no game play or scrimmages allowed at the rinks. The use of sticks and pucks are allowed during designated times only.

The town also “strongly” recommends helmets.
