An Oakville Public Library branch downtown remains closed for a second day due to water damage.

The Central Branch, located at 120 Navy St, is closed again Tuesday (Feb. 7) due to what town officials are calling “significant’ water damage.”

“The incident has impacted our public spaces and requires us to close the branch for maintenance,” the OPL said on Twitter.

Those with library holds ready for pick-up from the Central Branch will have their library items moved to the Woodside Branch.

Those items can be picked up starting Wednesday (Feb. 8). Customers are reminded to check their library account as some due dates will be extended.

Due dates for library items that were borrowed by customers who have Central Branch as their home branch will also be extended by seven days. This came into effect on Monday (Feb. 6).

Currently, only the Navy St. return box is open.

Room rental bookings are also currently unavailable, while exam proctoring services at Central Branch are closed until further notice.
