Halton police are looking for information about a shooting Saturday afternoon in Oakville.

On Saturday, July 30, around 4 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots being fired towards a residence on Hilda Dr., near Dundas St. E. and Eighth Line.

“A male and female were observed to approach the residence in a stolen Honda CRV with a Quebec licence plate,” said a Halton police spokesperson.

“The male was seen firing several rounds towards the residence before fleeing in the vehicle with the female prior to police arrival. Investigators determined that approximately ten rounds struck the front of the residence, causing damage to the front door and windows. No physical injuries were sustained as a result of the shooting.”

Yesterday, the stolen vehicle was found by York Regional Police at a motel in Concord. Halton police made the trip north and arrested two people as they entered the stolen vehicle.

Neither of the two suspects have been charged in relation to the Oakville shooting.

Abdinasir Aden, 20-year-old man from North York, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failure to comply with release order and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Batoul Fathala 19-year-old woman from London, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and was released on an undertaking.

Police are still actively investigating the shooting on July 30 on Hilda Drive and are asking anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the shooting to check for dash cam or CCTV footage.
