Getting a business licence in Oakville is a whole lot quicker and easier this week.

Beginning Tuesday (Dec. 7), local businesses will be able to both submit their business license application and receive their approved license online from the Town of Oakville.

Business owners or operators needing new licenses or looking to renew their existing licence can do so by going to www.oakville.ca/onlineservices and selecting Business Licenses.

The Town’s licensing web has also been updated to guide customers with their online applications, including a “ready, set, go” step-by-step process.

Email and mail application submissions for new businesses will be accepted up until Jan. 1, 2022. Existing business applying for renewal will have up to Jan. 15, 2022.

All business licence applications will only be accepted online after this time.

“The result of these new streamlined services will be easier, faster and more transparent processes for businesses in town,” said Ward 5 Town and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll in his weekly newsletter.

This marks the Town’s first step towards shifting by Municipal Enforcement Services online. Other services such as noise exemption and sign permit applications will be available in early 2022.
