New funding puts Burlington firm in reach of global markets

A Burlington firm expects an influx of government cash to help launch its global competitiveness in the aerospace industry.
RAMPF Composite Solutions Inc. says it will use a repayable contribution of $2.3 million from the Federal government to automate labour-intensive operations to improve productivity and reduce cycle times and invest in higher-volume equipment and digital tools.
These improvements, the company says, will help it enter into new aerospace markets and ultimately increase revenue. Fifteen new jobs will be created as a result of this financial investment.
The company manufactures fibre and fibreglass composite parts for the aerospace, defence, consumer products and medical sectors.
The announcement was made by Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
“We are very grateful to FedDev Ontario for this investment in the future of our company and our world-class employees,” said Larry Fitzgerald, CEO of RAMPF. “By investing in automation and digitization, we will position RAMPF Composite Solutions to win new business as airframe manufacturers, increase production rates and look to develop new aerospace solutions that take advantage of lightweight composites while reducing our environmental footprint.”
