Sometimes finding a parking spot can be a big hassle and cause a lot of stress.

Sometimes finding a parking spot can be a big hassle and cause a lot of stress. And if you’re someone who has struggled to find parking in downtown Burlington before, you may be happy to learn that the city is working on adding more spaces to one of its lots.

The city of Burlington recently took to Twitter to announce that construction to expand the parking lot at Caroline Street and John Street downtown will be underway through the end of this month.

Once construction is completed, 66 new parking spaces will be available.

Currently, according to the city’s website, all streets have a five-hour parking limit – unless otherwise signed. And, parking is not permitted overnight between 1 and 6 a.m.

When it comes to parking downtown, free parking is available in city lots and on-street parking spaces on weekdays after 6 p.m., weekends, holidays, and throughout the month of December.
