Milton invests $29.6M to improve town’s roads and bridges

This year, Milton is investing more than $29.6 million in the town’s roads and bridges to build a complete community.
Construction season is now underway in Milton, with crews out on the roads working to build and maintain infrastructure for the community’s present and future needs.
Throughout 2021, residents can expect road closures as well as lane restrictions on main arterial roads as well as side streets.
Additionally, there will be ongoing maintenance on roads and sidewalks to keep residents safe as well as promote a walkable and bicycle-friendly community.
“This investment puts the right infrastructure in place to meet community needs and make Milton a Place of Possibility,” said Mayor Gord Krantz.
Maintaining roads also contributes to the town’s long-term financial planning.

Major construction projects this year include Thompson Road (Louis St. Laurent Avenue to Britannia Road, Main Street East (James Snow Parkway to Fifth Line) and Fifth Line (Hwy. 401 to Main Street), Bronte Street (Victoria Street to Steeles Avenue), Victoria Street and Elizabeth Street and Main Street (just east of Commercial) bridge rehabilitation.
Residents are reminded that the Town coordinates the timing of construction projects with Halton Region as well as the private sector as much as possible.
