Major highway blocked after truck fire in Mississauga

A collision with a guard rail resulted in a van being engulfed in flames on a major highway Thursday evening (May 30) on the border of Mississauga and Brampton.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Highway 407 near Hurontario Street.

The white van smashed halfway through the guardrail and was fully engulfed in flames.

Brampton Fire and Peel Regional Police are on the scene of the crash that has left lanes blocked on the highway.

There are no known injuries at this time.

Drivers on the highway should look for alternate routes until the scene of the collision is cleared.
