Milton motorists who rely on a main arterial road to get around will have to find an alternate route this weekend.

Britannia Rd. is going to be closed from Fourth Line to Regional Road 25 beginning Friday, July 22, at 7 p.m. It is expected to reopen on Monday, July 25, at 6 a.m.

The closure is part of the Britannia Road Widening project and will allow for watermain installation.

During the closure, motorists will be detoured to Louis St. Laurent. Local and business access will be maintained.

This project is expected to last another couple of years and, when completed, will see a completely revamped Britannia Rd. from Hwy. 407 to Tremaine Rd.
