Hundreds of dippers are expected to take the plunge into the icy cold waters of Lake Ontario – as thousands of spectators look on – to help provide clean water in developing countries via World Vision.
The annual event is taking place on Jan. 1 at Coronation Park.
The 2017 dip, with roughly 700 participants, raised $125,000 for Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Mali.

Money goes to improve the health and safety of children by providing clean, healthy water in their communities.
Registration and live music begin at 12:30 p.m., with the dip happening at 2 p.m.

Toronto’s event at Sunnyside Beach has been iced, organizers announced on Sunday.
Monday’s predicted high is -10 C and it will feel like -29 C with the wind chill.
There’s a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the late afternoon.
The temperature is expected to drop to -23 C in the evening.
