The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) – Child and Sexual Assault Unit has charged a Georgetown man with sexual offences against three young people.

According to police, on May 17, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., three 13-year-old girls were sitting at the playground of Centennial Public School located at 233 Delrex Boulevard in Georgetown.

Police say the accused approached the victims, engaged in conversation and learned that the victims were all in grade 8.

The male then left the area but returned a short time later and approached the victims once again, according to police.

Police say the accused asked the three victims if they would perform a sexual act on him. When the victims refused, he then offered to expose himself to them, police say.

According to police, the three victims left the area without further incident and reported what had occurred. Police attended the scene and located the accused a short distance away.

Judah Sonnylal, a 29-year-old from Georgetown has been charged with invitation to sexual touching (3 counts) and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose as police say a knife was located during the search incident to arrest.

Sonnylal has been held in custody pending a bail hearing, according to police.
