DRIZZLE

Road conditions in Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville will likely be dicey on Wednesday morning, due to freezing drizzle that was expected to begin overnight.

Environment Canada says that there will be icy and slippery conditions early on Feb. 9. A freezling drizzle advisory has been issued for Hamilton and the Halton Region.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery,” the federal weather agency’s alert states. “Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice.”

Motorists are advised to moderate their speed, leave extra time for travel and, where possible, leave more space between themselves and other drivers.

The freezing drizzle advisory has also been issued for Peel Region and Toronto.
