Free Parking is Coming to Downtown Oakville

Good news for Oakville residents and those who frequent the town’s downtown area.

Good news for Oakville residents and those who frequent the town’s downtown area.

Downtown Oakville recently revealed that the Town of Oakville will be offering free parking starting April 1, 2019.

Free parking will be available on weekends. 

Additionally, Monday through Friday parking for the first hour be free when using HonkMobile – an app that allows users to pay for parking right from their smartphone. 

Those who want to take advantage of this initiative will not be required to use the HonkMobile app on the weekends. 

“This parking initiative will be available in all municipal lots and [at] street parking [spots] in downtown Oakville (Navy Street – Allan Street along Robinson Street, Lakeshore Road, Church Street and Randall Street),” reads a recent Downtown Oakville Facebook post.

Throughout this initiative, free parking after 6 p.m. on weekdays and free holiday parking will stay the same.

The Facebook post notes that free two-hour parking will also be available south of RobinsonStreet.
