Brave the cold and warm up to a selection of food trucks under the festive holiday lights that will adorn Mississauga’s giant evergreen during the annual Light Up The Square event!

This free event, which will take place on Saturday, Nov 22 from 6 to 9 pm, will feature nine food trucks and some special guests, including outgoing Mayor Hazel McCallion, YTV host Carlos Bustamante, Canadian indie singer/songwriter Derik Baker from Virginia to Vegas and Rebel Coast, a Canadian band and winners of YTV’s The Next Star.

End the night off with ice skating as the ice rink opens up for the season while listening to music from DJ D-Smooth – 2014’s Canadian East Coast Red Bull Thre3style Champ.

There will also be many activities to keep the little ones busy, including the Elves Workshop where you will find arts and crafts, face painting and community performances, roaming performers, horse and carriage rides and toy train rides.

Here is the list of food trucks making an appearance — and the best part is that you can choose the order for your nine-course (food truck) meal!

BeaverTails
has gone mobile and BT’s first mobile truck originated right here in Mississauga. A classic Canadian treat of hand-stretched, float fried whole wheat pastries that are served hot and topped with one of the many flavours including the all time favorite – Killaloe Sunrise.

Chimney Stax Baking Co. creates an all natural, baked, never fried dessert called Chimney Stax, which is a spin on Chimney Cakes, a popular street snack served on the streets of Eastern Europe.

CORNehCOPIA from MrCorn is Canada’s first and only gourmet food truck specializing in Corn on the Cob.

Curbalicious has created a rotating menu using fresh local ingredients to create gourmet, home style dishes. Staple menu items include What the Duck, Porky Poutine, The Schnitz, and Moroccan Basa.

Dirty South serves up southern comfort food with a gourmet twist. The Dirty Southern Love is their signature and most popular sandwich, which includes crispy fried chicken tossed in a mild Louisiana butter sauce and thick sliced candied bacon sandwiched between three layers of homemade buttermilk waffles and topped with baby arugula.

Gorilla Cheese is Canada’s first grilled cheese food truck serving gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches that feature local cheese, bread and seasonal ingredients.

Ish & Chips started as a restaurant first, serving their award winning fish and chips and other comfort food dishes, and they recently hit the streets with the Ish & Chips food truck so that the people on the streets can have a taste.

Rancho Relaxo originated as a Mexican restaurant and music venue located in Toronto, has recently gone mobile in their very own food truck serving up their infamous fish tacos and other favorites including quesadillas, burritos, and yams.

Smoke’s Poutinerie offers a vast selection, 30 to be precise, of the Quebec classic – poutine, which is made with hand-cut yellow potatoes, Quebec cheese curds and signature gravies.

Dimkins Crepes is one of Celebration Square’s resident food carts offering none other than crepes that will satisfy that sweet tooth or savory craving.
