A major road was closed during the morning rush hour on Monday, July 8, in Oakville.
According to Halton police Const. Jeff Dillon, a call was received at 6:21 a.m. regarding a garbage truck on fire in the eastbound lane of Speers Rd.
The road was closed between Bronte Road and Third Line while Oakville firefighters put out the flames and the vehicle was removed.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
The road was reopened around 9:30 a.m.
