An exhibition about the history of the Peel County Jail is coming soon to Brampton.
This exhibition, called Beyond the Bars: The History of the Peel County Jail, will be coming to the Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives (PAMA) in February.
The exhibition aims to “take a thoughtful and compassionate approach” to the jail’s history as well as the stories of those who spent time within it.
“By humanizing the jail and justice system, visitors will be encouraged to reflect on why the jail existed, as well as who it served,” reads PAMA’s website.
The exhibition will hit PAMA on Feb. 20 and will remain a permanent exhibit.
PAMA is open Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
