Dates set for patio season in downtown Burlington

Patio season will start next month in Burlington.
Beginning April 15 and running until Oct. 31 of this year, businesses will be allowed to operate on City property in the downtown area.
However, businesses must apply first.
Along with restaurants, other businesses may be allowed to open a patio this year.
The program is being operated on a temporary basis this upcoming season as the City works towards developing a permanent patio policy for 2024.
Application fees for the 2023 temporary patio program are being waived again this year as the City encourages businesses to attract customers in an effort to boost the economy in the post-pandemic world.

Burlington City staff will work with the applicants to help make the operations run smoothly and safely this year.
