One of Canada’s top songwriters and the nation’s ‘Queen of R&B Soul’ are taking the stage in Oakville as part of the fourth Annual Kerrfest this weekend.

The outdoor street festival runs in Kerr Village (it’s been happening each September since 2014) and is organized by the Kerr Village BIA.

This year’s event is on Sept. 8 and Sept. 9.

Bill Durst is an audience favourite at festivals and concerts across Canada and has long been considered one of the best guitar players/singers/entertainers anywhere.

Durst has written and recorded more than 100 songs on 10 albums.

He’ll be on the Westwood Park Stage on Sept. 9 at 7:45 p.m. and will open for Loverboy, who’s headlining the show.

Platinum-selling songstress and Juno Award winner Jully Black has been dubbed one of the ’25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever’ by CBC Music and was even hand-selected to sing for the Queen of England.

She’s also collaborated with stars such as Sean Paul, Destiny’s Child, and iconic reggae dancehall artist Tanya Stephens.

Black will be performing on Sept. 9 at 5:15 p.m.

Eclectic Revival is also in Saturday’s lineup at 2:45 p.m., with the roster also featuring David Wilcox.

But there’s more than music.

A sidewalk sale and food samples are in store, plus a car show, Kid Zone area, skateboard competition, and more.

Westwood Park opens at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, with performances from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The park reopens at noon on Saturday.

Admission is free.
