Armed robbery at Oakville pharmacy results in arrest of Brampton, Maple, Toronto teens

Four male youths have been charged in an armed robbery of an Oakville pharmacy last Friday (Feb. 3)

Halton Regional Police say four males entered the Pharmasave Pharmacy, located at 225 Speers Rd., around 4 p.m. and demanded staff open the safe.

One of the suspects pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded the safe be open.

The four teens would step behind the counter and steal narcotics before fleeing the scene in a light-coloured SUV.

Police responded to the call in time to see the suspects driving away and attempted to stop the vehicle. The four males were arrested after their vehicle ran into police vehicles.

The suspects’ vehicle had been reported stolen in Peel Region the previous day (Thursday, Feb. 2).

Police say there were no physical injuries sustained as a result of the robbery.

A search of the vehicle allowed police to seize stolen narcotics, cash and a pellet gun believed to be the weapon used in the robbery (photo below).

A 16-year-old male from Maple has been charged with:

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight from a Peace Officer

A 17-year-old male from Brampton, a 14-year-old male from Toronto, and a 15-year-old male from Brampton have been charged with:

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

All four youth were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
