It’s been a hot weekend, and it looks like temperatures won’t be dropping just yet.

A heat warning has been issued by Environment Canada, who says the warm, humid conditions are expected to continue into Monday, July 29.

“Daytime maximum temperatures in the low thirties are expected along with overnight low temperatures near the 20 degree mark,” the statement reads. “There may be a brief respite from the heat in some areas Monday as showers or thunderstorms are possible.”

A cold front is expected to deliver a cooler and less humid air mass on Tuesday.

For the rest of the week, lower but still consistently warm temperatures are expected.

Residents should take precautions against heat-related illness by staying hydrated, eating light, cool meals, and making sure not to leave people or pets in parked vehicles.

We’ll update with any further weather statements.
