86 illegal weapons found at a store after a raid in Burlington

Two men have been arrested after police raided a store in Burlington.

Halton police made the arrests after investigating reports of a store selling prohibited weapons.

On Feb. 2, investigators with the 3 District Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at the Big Bear Food Mart store located at 450 Appleby Line, at New St.

As a result of the search, police seized the following items:

  • 5 butterfly knives
  • 21 brass knuckles
  • 53 flick or torsion bar knives
  • 6 spring-assisted telescopic batons
  • 1 single-handed crossbow

All of these weapons are prohibited as defined by the Criminal Code and were on display for sale.

Anqi Liu, 29, and Zhengran Qiao, 32, both of Burlington, have both been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of weapons trafficking.
