15cm to 30cm of snow expected Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and Milton

It’s going to be a sloppy commute to work in southern Ontario on Thursday morning.

A weather advisory in effect for:

  • Mississauga
  • Brampton
  • Burlington
  • Oakville
  • Caledon
  • Halton Hills
  • Milton

A winter storm warning in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

In Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and Milton there will be accumulations of 10 to 15 cm by Thursday morning.

In the Hamilton area with total accumulations will be a little more with 20 to 30 cm are expected by Thursday night. Snowfall rates may reach up to 2 cm per hour at times in Hamilton.

The snow fall will start on Thursday afternoon through Thursday morning.

Rain showers will transition to snow early this evening for the Greater Toronto Area. Snow is expected to continue through tonight before easing by Thursday morning.

Additional lighter snowfall is expected Thursday for the Greater Toronto Area, however there is still some uncertainty regarding the additional associated snowfall amounts.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
